Annotation: The Earthsea Archipelago has many islands. On one of them lives a young boy, Duny. He is taken by a local mage Ogion as an apprentice, but soon it become obvious that Duny's abilities need a special attention. Given a true name - Ged - he is sent to the prestigious school of wizards on the Isle of Roke. That is a whole new world of illusions, herbalism, summoning and runes, a slow and hard way to learn how to master Ged's gift and the balance of the universe. There are some mischevious actions among students that will weighton their future. Ged, already qualified as wizard, has to make a name for himself, and face his dark side. This is a long and adventurous journey, through many islands, courts, villages, castles, desolated places and wilderness. All the time he is pursued by, and in turn pursues himself the shadow, and finally, confronting it, finds his peace.
